A Romantic Proposal In Greenville, South Carolina

I had the absolute joy of photographing a beautiful proposal and engagement session tucked away in a serene park in Upstate South Carolina. This spot wasn’t in the hustle of downtown Greenville; but in the quiet, peaceful outskirts of Greenville, South Carolina. It was so dreamy and honestly, kind of magical. Flowers were in full bloom, softening the landscape with color and creating the perfect spring backdrop for their romantic session.

We started the session with some simple couple’s portraits near the walkway lined with florals down towards the fountain. There was a soft breeze that day— just enough to bring everything to life. It picked up the movement in her dress, gently lifted strands of her hair, and even added sprays from the water fountain. It’s those little things you can’t plan, but they make the moment feel so alive and cinematic.

We stopped to take a couple of photos by the fountain of them holding hands and looking away from each other. I then prompted her to play with her dress and for him to put his hand in his pocket while still looking away from each other. This was his cue that I was ready when he was! So then— right there by the fountain— he got down on one knee and asked the love of his life to spend forever with him.

This couple has been together for quite some time, and it was clear this was a moment they had both been waiting for. He got down on one knee, asked her to marry him, and she was glowing with joy. That “yes” came with laughter and one of the biggest smiles I’ve ever seen. She could not believe they were finally engaged! She was radiating with excitement and you could feel the joyful energy all around her. It was one of those reactions that makes you smile behind the camera without even realizing it.

From there, we went on to capture the rest of their session, but now focusing on them as an engaged couple and showing off that ROCK!

Sessions like this remind me why I love my job. I get to witness real moments— moments that turn into lifelong memories— and help couples hold onto them forever. If you are planning a proposal or just said “yes”, I’d love to help you tell your story in a way that’s real, emotional, and beautifully you!

It’s your story. I’m just here to help you tell it.
